Alessandro Gamberini NapoliThe agent of Napoli defender Alessandro Gamberini has stated that despite the club’s claims that he is ‘unsellable,’ his client’s future could lie away from Naples.

Gamberini only arrived at the Stadio San Paolo last summer from Fiorentina, but his position at the club has been put in doubt as the Partenopei have been linked with a move for Martin Skrtel and Adil Rami in recent weeks.

The defender’s hometown club Bologna have been the club most closely linked with a move and his agent has claimed that the Rossoblu could be a possible destination for him, while Genoa are also considering him as a replacement for Andreas Granqvist should he leave the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

“The situation remains the same as it was several weeks ago, which is that the player is staying at Napoli,” agent Francesco Romano told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“The club has declared that he is unsellable, but when I say that I always hear people respond by saying ‘everybody says that.’

“As far as I’m concerned I can say that I haven’t heard from Bologna, and I’m only now learning of Genoa’s interest.

“Just yesterday morning I spoke to [Riccardo] Bigon and he told me that the player isn’t on the market. That said, the transfer window is long, and as a result you can’t exclude anything.”

Romano is also currently involved in negotiations for Marco Calderoni of Grosseto, who is close to joining Chievo in a co-ownership deal with Bari.

“We can say that the deal, even though though it hasn’t been concluded, is at a good point. There are still some things to sort out.”
