Inter, Napoli and Roma have all been linked with a move for the prolific goalscorer as he is almost certain to leave the faltering Russian side this summer.
Sky Sport report that the Cameroonian’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, was in London on Wednesday where he met with several Premier League clubs and representatives from Roma.
While a deal has yet to be reached with any of the interested parties, it is believed that the Blues now have the inside track on negotiations for the former Barcelona and Inter star.
The move would reunite Eto’o with manager Jose Mourinho, as the duo won the Treble while with the Nerazzurri in 2010 before the latter departed for Real Madrid.
Eto’o has scored 36 goals in 72 appearances for the Russian side since moving from Inter in 2011.
