CardiffSerie A side Chievo were unlucky to fall to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cardiff on Saturday afternoon.

The Italian side hit the woodwork and forced a goal line clearance from their opponents throughout the afternoon but could not find a way to put the ball in the opposition goal.

The Flying Donkeys threatened early on with Boukary Drame forcing an early save from David Marshall.  Soon after Sergio Pellissier pounced and intercepted a back-pass from Peter Wittingham before rounding the Cardiff keeper, is effort was scrambled clear off the line by City defender Ben Turner.

Maxwell Acosty found himself with a free header following a corner but his effort went over the bar before Craig Noone fired over the opposite crossbar with a quick snapshot.

Kim Bo-Kyung finally broke the deadlock for the Premier League side with just short of an hour played, bundling home the rebound after Noone saw his shot stopped by substitute goalkeeper Lorenzo Squizzi.

Chievo were again frustrated when Alberto Paloschi’s shot was parried back to him presenting him with a second opportunity with which he hit the post.

Despite two late chances falling to Chievo and Riccardo Improta, Marshall in the City goal helped his side hold on to claim victory.
