Emanuelson MilanAC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson has stated that he plans on earning more playing time with the Rossoneri this season after being loaned out last campaign.

The 27-year-old returned to the Rossoneri this summer after spending the second half of the 2012-13 season on loan at Fulham and is looking forward to appearing in his team’s Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven on August 20.

Emanuelson spoke to Milan Channel on Monday about the upcoming match against PSV and his role in the Italian side’s squad.

“There is a nice rivalry between Ajax and PSV,” said the Dutch international. “When I played in Holland we faced off in the championships.

“They have always been a good team and this year they are young, but have great quality.

“They have changed a bit from when [Mark] van Bommel played with them.

“We also have a young team, but not as young as they are.

“For me, it’s important to play this season since I’ve returned to AC Milan. When the coach puts me in the back, I play there. I think that would be my position.

“This match is very important for us.

“In the defensive role, it’s me and [Kevin] Constant. There’s a nice rivalry between us. However, Kevin is my friend and we speak a lot. We’ll see who will play tomorrow.”
