Perin - PescaraThe agent of Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin has denied that Serie A giants AC Milan have ever been in contact regarding the availability of the young shot stopper.

With the 20-year-old likely to become first-choice at the Luigi Ferraris this season Moreno Roggi insisted that although there had been interest in his client from many clubs he had never received such communication from the Rossoneri.

“Milan are competitive with all [clubs], both in Italy and in Europe.” Roggi told Milan News.

“Perin? Milan has never stepped up to the door of Genoa.”

After impressing between the posts at relegated Pescara last season the Italian Under-21 will be looking to avoid a similar fate with the Grifone next season under new coach Fabio Liverani.

However, the departure of former Genoa number one Sebastien Frey to Bursaspor will ease the pressure on the young custodian as he looks to cement a place in the Rossoblu first-team.
