Wellington - Sao PaoloSao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has revealed that the club have no intentions of selling Wellington to Inter.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri this summer and has even recently expressed his wishes to play in Europe, but his current club’s vice-president claims that the player is staying in Brazil.

Lopes spoke to Terra about the midfielder’s transfer situation and insisted that no negotiations would be held for his sale.

“He’s a very beloved player here,” said the Sao Paulo executive. “He’s a full member of the club and we appreciate him.

“He will not move from here because we need him. If anyone wants him then they’ll have to deal with his buy-out clause.

“There will be absolutely no negotiations for his sale.”

Wellington came up through the Sao Paulo youth system and started his professional career at the club in 2008.

Inter have been revamping their squad under new coach Walter Mazzarri this summer and it’s yet to be determined if they’ll be willing to meet the Brazilian’s buy-out clause before the transfer window closes.
