Juventus striker Alessandro Matri is close to joining AC Milan for a fee of €10 million as the Diavolo look to secure a reinforcement for their attack.

The Rossoneri are safely through to the draw for the group stages of the Champions League after coming out 3-0 victors in their crucial playoff tie against PSV Eindhoven and  are now planning their final moves on the transfer market.

Sports Mediaset immediately reported after Wednesday’s match that Matri is set to join the Rossoneri as an agreement has been reached with Juventus for the player’s services.

The Via Turati club will reportedly pay €10 million for the 29-year-old, with an initial €2m changing hands for the Italian international and a further €8m payable over four years.

Matri hadn’t planned on leaving Turin until January, but the offer of a move to Milan has seemingly changed his perspective and the deal is expected to be made official on Thursday, or at the latest Friday.

With Matri looking set to leave for Milan, and Fabio Quagliarella close to securing a move to English Premier League side West Ham United, it is likely that the Bianconeri will move for attacking reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.
