Liverpool are ready to put the wheels in motion on a transfer for reported AC Milan and Fiorentina target Mamadou Sakho of Paris Saint-Germain.
The 23-year-old French defender has found first team opportunities rather hard to come by in Paris, with coach Carlo Ancelotti having preferred a centre-back pairing consisting of Brazilian internationals Alex and Thiago Silva last season.
With Sakho keen to move in search of more playing time, Metro reports that English giants Liverpool are set to rival Italian sides for the player’s signature, with a €10 million offer on the table for the Parisiens.
For the moment however PSG seem reluctant to let the French international stopper leave the Parc des Princes.
Paris native Sakho currently has nine goals in 201 appearances for his hometown side, and signed his first professional contract at the club in 2007.
