Mamadou Sakho PSGRoma look set to lose to Liverpool in the race for Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho, though the French club insist he is not for sale.

Roma director Walter Sabitini has arrived in France today in effort to try and sign Sakho, whose contract is set to expire next summer.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the 23-year-old is unhappy at not being a regular starter at centre-back with PSG and could be available for around €15 million and the Premier League club are thought to be close to concluding a deal.

Despite of all the interest, PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is not ready to sell the talented youngster:

“Sakho is a child of the club, just like Steven Gerrard is at Liverpool,” Al-Khelaifi told L’Equipe recently.

“It is hard to imagine him wearing another team’s jersey and I’m a little surprised that he wants to leave.

“I had a discussion with him. My position is very clear and he knows it – we want to keep him and we will do everything to achieve that.”
