Emanuele Calaio NapoliAfter being told that he was free to leave current employers Napoli, Emanuele Calaio could remain in Serie A with newly promoted Livorno and Torino expressing an interest in the striker.

With the Amaranto knowing that goals will be vital to any survival hopes next season the 31-year-old could be a useful addition to the squad in support of Federico Dionisi and Brazilian Paulinho.

However, Tuttomercatoweb have reported that former club Torino are also considering a move for the Italian, although the Granata are currently focused on goalkeeping reinforcements after losing Jean-Francois Gillet.

Calaio began his footballing career in Turin, debuting for Toro in January 2000 against Reggina and scoring after just three minutes. He went on to score just three goals in 23 appearances in all competitions during his three years with the club.

After moving to Naples in January 2005 he helped the Partenopei climb back to the top tier of Italian football after demotion to Serie C1. However, after one season in Serie A with Napoli he departed to Siena.

After four goals in 18 league matches last season he returned to Napoli in January where he struggled to secure a permanent place in the side.
