Federico MachedaManchester United have named their asking price for young Italian forward Federico Macheda.

Reports indicate that the club would like to sell the player before the current transfer window closes.

Macheda has had loan spells with Sampdoria, Queens Park Rangers and Stuttgart over the last two seasons and will now be looking for a permanent move away from Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old burst onto the scene in 2008 scoring a spectacular winning goal against Aston Villa on his debut but has struggled for form and consistency over the remaining years.

Tuttomercatoweb report that a fee of €3.5 million will be enough to sign the player but as of yet there are no serious offers. The player’s contract expires in 12 months time so there is the chance that the Red Devils would be prepared to accept a lower transfer bid.

Macheda is a Roman native and played fro the Lazio youth teams before moving to England.
