Napoli striker Emanuele Calaio is close to leaving the Partenopei after only six months with a club with a move to Genoa on the horizon.

The 31-year-old returned to the Partenopei in January after having played for the club from 2005 to 2008.

However Calaio found playing time hard to come by and only made six appearances while failing to score a goal for the Azzurri.

As a result, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Calaio is hours away from completing a move to Genoa.

With the Grifone possibly moving out Alberto Gilardino and Antonio Floro Flores before the close of the transfer window, the move will seemingly allow Calaio the chance to once again find regular playing time.

Before joining Napoli, Calaio featured for Siena for four and a half seasons where he registered 50 goals in 154 appearances.
