Duvan Zapata - EstudiantesNapoli have reportedly made an offer for Estudiantes striker Duvan Zapata after English Championship side Queens Park Rangers pulled out of a deal for the player.

London club QPR had a €7.5m bid accepted by the Argentine club, with the forward even spending a few days training at Loftus Road, but manager Harry Redknapp confirmed that the deal will not go through due to work permit issues.

“He is a player we talked about and feel has a big future,” Redknapp told the Evening Standard.

“He could be a big star, but we’re looking at this year and a player who can come do a job and get us out of this league. He is one we’d look at in a year or two.”

SkySports Italia report that the Partenopei are aiming to tempt Estudiantes with a €4.1m proposal and hope the Buenos Aires based side will accept a lower bid after being left disappointed by the QPR falling through.

Zapata has scored 22 goals in 46 appearances for Estudiantes since making the move from Colombian club America de Cali in 2011.
