Luiz Gustavo Bayern MunichBayern Munich midfielder and Napoli target Luiz Gustavo has stated that he would be open to leaving the German giants in search of regular first team football.

The Brazilian international  has been linked with a number of clubs this summer including Arsenal, Chelsea, Napoli, and Wolfsburg. With the World Cup set to take place in Brazil next summer, the 26-year-old did not hide his ambitions to make Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad.

“My contract with Bayern runs until 2015 but it is very important that I play first-team football to keep getting called up for Brazil,” he told The Guardian.

“I am in a very delicate situation at Bayern and this needs sorting out. I have personal and professional reasons to move.

“Nobody earns a place in the Brazil squad with past glories. I need to be playing to show I am in proper shape for the team, especially now that we have only friendlies before the World Cup.”

“Arsenal? It’s a big club we’re talking about here, so of course I’d like to play for them.

“They play great football and participate in the Champions League, their coach Wenger is very good and Bayern had to work hard to beat them in the Champions League.”

Gustavo has spent the last three season with Bayern where he has scored six goals in 100 appearances for the Bavarian giants.
