Antonio Mirante - ParmaParma and Chievo failed to convert their chances in a 0-0 draw at the Stadio Tardini on Sunday night in the Serie A.

Despite both teams having chances to win the match, Parma’s Antonio Mirante and Chievo’s Christian Puggioni saved their sides from defeat.

A long-ball from Alessio Sestu was swung into the box in the third minute but Alberto Paloschi was in an offside position.

In the seventh minute, Amauri played a one-two with Marco Parolo but his weak shot was easily collected by Puggioni.

Paloschi had a shot from outside the box straight after for the Flying Donkeys but it hit the side-netting.

Perparim Hetemaj hit a shot from about 35 metres that went straight into Antonio Mirante’s arms.

Sestu’s free-kick from the left sailed over the Parma defenders but Mirante parried the ball above him.

A long Hetemaj pass found Cyril Thereau in the box, whose header forced a great save out of Mirante at the far post.

Thereau then created an assist by playing a through-ball to Paloschi, whose shot straight at Mirante forced another save.

After a corner from the left, Marco Marchionni volleyed from outside the box but the shot went wide after a deflection.

After the next corner, the ball was cleared but it fell to the feet of Jaime Valdes, whose right-foot drive from long range forced a save out of Puggioni.

Amauri ran onto a Cassano through-ball and shot straight at Puggioni to force a corner which was easily cleared away.

Cassano went for a run on the left-wing, beating three defenders and crossed low for Amauri, who slid in and his shot went to the keeper’s right.

Chievo wasted a good chance to score at about 65 minutes. Paloschi had his back towards goal and laid the ball off for Gennaro Sardo, who had space but he took too long to control the ball and his shot at Mirante was weak.

With less than 10 minutes to go, a Cassano cross from the left-wing went to Jonathan Biabiany at the far post, whose header forced Puggioni into arguably the save of the match.

Nicola Sansone came on for Cassano but he wasn’t able to make a great impact. In stoppage time, Parma were hitting long-balls to Amauri before referee Nicola Rizzoli blew the final whistle.
