Pierino Prati AC MilanFormer AC Milan striker Pierino Prati has conceded that PSV Eindhoven will be a tough opponent for the Italian club in the preliminary round of the Champions League.

The first leg will take place on August 20 at the Philips Stadion, before travelling to the San Siro for the second leg on August 28.

Prati spoke to MilanNews.it about the challenge that lies ahead of his former club and praised PSV.

“It’s a very well known team in Europe with a tradition,” said the 66-year-old.

“The squad is made up of many young people. In fact, the average age is 21-years-old.

“They have lost a lot of quality players during this transfer window, but they still remain a tough and highly respected team.”

The ex-striker then gave his opinion on Keisuke Honda and Adem Ljajic, who have both been linked with a move to the Diavolo this summer.

“Ljajic or Honda? Both are two players with different characteristics.

“The Japanese player is a more experienced play-maker and has played a big part in his international team.

“While the Serbian youngster is more of a perspective player.

“Both players have great qualities and I’m sure they could do great at AC Milan.

“However, the Rossoneri should strengthen their midfield and defence by purchasing two players with experience and value.”
