Davide Astori CagliariRoma have filed a bid with Cagliari to take defender Davide Astori on a co-ownership deal.

Earlier this summer, Napoli almost acquired him for €13 million before manager Rafael Benetiz canceled the deal at the last moment.

The capital club’s bid, which is reportedly for €7.5m, was filed on Friday night, according to a report from Sky Sport Italia.

Astori has been subject to rumors linking him with Southampton, Sunderland, and Everton along with Napoli and Roma.

Cagliari president Massimo Cellino, however, has made it clear that he does not wish for any of Cagliari’s players to be solid this summer.

The 26-year-old Italian, who was acquired by the club in 2008, made 32 Serie A appearances last season.

In total, Astori has made 140 appearances and scored three goals since his arrival in 2008.
