Fabio Quagliarella - JuventusShakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu has admitted that he wouldn’t hesitate to sign Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella if given the chance.

The 30-year-old is expected to leave the Bianconeri before the transfer window closes and has been linked with moves to Sunderland and Norwich City, though he’s so far failed to hold advanced talks with any of his pursuing teams.

Lucescu spoke to TuttoJuve.com and conceded that it may be hard to entice the player to join the Ukrainian club.

“Quagliarella? He’s a great player, I’d take him straight away,” said the 68-year-old tactician.

“I don’t think it will be easy to convince him to accept Ukraine. I wanted him two months ago, but at the time it was not possible to start real negotiations.

“We’ll see what happens in this last week before the transfer deadline. Time is tight, but it’s possible a door will open with the Bianconeri.”

Juventus have been looking to sell Quagliarella and cut down on their number of strikers since buying Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente earlier this summer.
