Michael Bradley RomaRoma has rejected a bid from Paolo Di Canio’s Sunderland for midfielder Michael Bradley.

The 26-year-old American international has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League earlier this transfer window, but despite the rumors the defensive midfielder was part of Rudi Garcia’s starting eleven in Roma’s opening match against Livorno.

Bradley has attracted interest from Sunderland and the club have already made a €6 million bid for the midfielder which was immediately rejected by Roma, according to English newspaper The Daily Mail.

A possible departure of the former Aston Villa player will be another strike at the heart for the fans of the capital club as they have already said goodbye to Marquinhos – to Paris Saint-Germain – and Pablo Osvaldo – to Southampton while Erik Lamela is also expected to leave the club and join Tottenham Hotspur.

Bradley joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2012 from Chievo and has made 31 Serie appearances for the club.
