Marco AmeliaAC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia is a wanted man as Torino have expressed a keen interest in purchasing him.

This is not the first time the Turin-based side have eyed Milan’s shot-stopper, having made an inquiry last July.

Torino have been on the hunt for a new ‘keeper following Jean-Francois Gillet’s ban for his part in the most recent match-fixing investigation.

The former Genoa and Palermo player would be able to secure first team football after having been behind Christian Abbiati in the Milan pecking order in recent seasons.

Tuttomercatoweb.com claims that the Rossoneri are currently hesitant in letting Amelia leave despite the 31-year-old being in a battle with young Brazilian Gabriel for the second-choice spot. However the club are still uncertain regarding Gabriel’s ability to cover Abbiati and are still evaluating the youngster.

Amelia, a World Cup medal winner in 2006, made 11 Serie A appearances last season, the most he’s made since making the move to the San Siro.
