Gianluca Pegolo SienaTorino are reportedly close to completing a deal for Siena goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo.

The Granata were dealt a difficult hand when starter Jean-Francois Gillet was handed a 43 month ban back in July for suspected match-fixing while with Bari.

As a result, the Granata have been in search for a replacement and it appears they have turned to Pegolo to fill the void.

Following Siena’s relegation, the 32 year old would be available for transfer and Tuttosport are reporting that Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi met with Pegolo’s agent on Sunday in hopes of finalizing a deal.

Siena have reportedly already accepted Torino’s bid for the former Hellas Verona man, meaning personal terms with the player are all that stand in the way of a deal being completed.

It is believed that an agreement will be reached, but the report states that Pegolo is demanding more than Torino are currently offering in terms of salary as well as requesting an additional year on the deal.

Pegolo appeared in all 38 of Siena’s Serie A matches last season.
