Tottenham Hotspur are considering a swoop for two Roma players. In addition to their well-known interest in Erik Lamela, they are also sweet on midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
Spurs manager Andre Villas Boas was asked his views on both Lamela and Pjanic, but went no further than calling them ‘great players’.
However, according to The Independent, Tottenham’s technical director Franco Baldini is very keen on buying the pair from his former club, although he would prefer to wait until Gareth Bale is sold to Real Madrid so that the finances to sign them are guaranteed.
Tottenham may find it tough to prise Pjanic away from Roma as new Giallorossi coach Rudi Garcia considers the 23-year-old as a key player in his side.
