Matej Vydra WatfordUdinese have confirmed that striker Matej Vydra will likely be playing his football in the Premier League this season.

The Czech Republic international is coming off a successful season on loan at Watford where he picked up the 2012/13 Championship Player of the Season award.

As a result he has drawn interest from several Premier League clubs regarding a possible move.

“We know what the player wants so it is no surprise to us,” Udinese sporting director Cristiano Giaretta told the Messaggero Veneto.

“Vydra has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League after his positive experience in the Championship and we agree with him.

“It is important that players have objectives and he is convinced he can do well there, but the most important thing is that we are well covered in attack.

“We have Antonio Di Natale, Luis Muriel, Maicosuel, Piotr Zielinski and Nico Lopez. We’d have too many if Vydra was to stay too.”
