Antonini - AC MilanAC Milan and Genoa have agreed an exchange deal with Luca Antonini leaving the San Siro for the Marassi, while Slovenian midfielder Valter Birsa heads in the other direction.

Both players have signed three year contracts with their new employers to confirm the switch.

Antonini confirmed the news on Twitter by thanking the Rossoneri for his time at the club and by retweeting messages of support as he prepares for his ‘new adventure’ with the Grifone.

Birsa has also now been listed as an AC Milan player on the official Lega Serie A website.

Antonini had previously been linked to Genoa’s rivals Sampdoria and multiple Turkish sides but it has been the Rossublu who won the race for his signature.

It has been reported that the Slovenian has already passed his medical with the Diavolo.

The exchange deal was originally expected to include Milan’s Bakaye Traore but he now appears to have been listed as unavailable for sale and was thus removed from the negotiations.

Antonini made six appearances for Milan during the 2012-13 Serie A season while Birsa spent the season on loan at Torino where he featured 17 times and scored twice.
