Libor Kozak - Aston VillaNew Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak has thanked his former employers Lazio for allowing him to display and develop his talents during his five years with the Biancocelesti.

The 24-year-old Czech also spoke about playing for his national side following the Czech Republic’s 2-1 defeat to Italy at Juventus Stadium on September 10.

“I have to say that I miss Rome,” said Kozak to Sport.cz.

“I will always thank Lazio, they gave me the opportunity to play top-flight football.

“I have already spoken with [Paul] Lambert, but only time will tell what my role will be.

“I will be sure to give my all whenever I am given an opportunity as playing in the Premier League is a dream of mine.”

Kozak also spoke of his pride at scoring against a goalkeeper of Gianlugi Buffon’s calibre after he put the Czechs ahead against the Azzurri before Giorgio Chiellini and Mario Balotelli goals gave Italy the win in Turin.

“I want to score in every game, especially now that we lost against Armenia.

“I know that I beat Buffon, who I really respect a lot, I hoped I’d be able to score against him.”
