AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has been handed a three-match ban after being sent off after the Rossoneri’s 2-1 defeat against Napoli on Sunday.

The Italian international was shown a second booking minutes after the conclusion of the match after continually protesting to referee Banti after becoming incensed when a foul was not called in his favour towards the end of the match.

As a result the Rossoneri, who are already without the likes of Stephan El Shaarawy, Kaka and Riccardo Montolivo through injury, will be without the striker for matches against Bologna, Sampdoria and Juventus.

The Rossoneri have also seen the Curva Sud closed for one match for derogatory chants directed at Neapolitans during the match.

Bologna defender Cesare Natali has also been handed a three-match ban after being sent off during half-time of the Felsinei’s 2-1 loss to Torino.

He verbally abused the match official and will thus miss the club’s upcoming matches against Milan, Roma and Hellas Verona.

Andre Dias of Lazio, Mattia Cassani of Parma and Panagiotis Kone of Bologna have also been handed one-match bans.
