Jose Callejon NapoliJose Callejon expressed the squads desire to return Napoli to the top of Italian football and that the Scudetto will be the target under Rafael Benitez this season.

After joining the Partenopei this summer with fellow former Real Madrid players Raul Albiol and Gonzalo Higuain the 26-year-old attacker insisted that although they may spend plenty of time together they are doing all they can to integrate into the club.

“It is obvious that the former Real players spend more time together because we know each other well, but we’re spending a lot of time with the other players to integrate as quickly as possible,” Callejon told Cuatro.

“I often hear from my former teammates at Real and they ask me about my adaptation to the Italian championship.

“[Jose] Mourinho I like, but I also try to do my best for all the coaches with whom I work. I always give 100 per cent, but it is clear that if a player receives trust they are much more stimulated to do well.

“In Real there were no groups or clans, there was a good relationship between all the elements of the locker room.

“I do not know Benitez well, but he is a great coach, he has a great relationship with all the players and is close to each one of us, encouraging us in good times and the bad.

“We work to try to win the Scudetto, we do it with enthusiasm, we have only played a few games but we want to reach our goal.

“Napoli is a great adventure for those from Real, we want to achieve something important with this club.”
