Edy Reja LazioFormer Lazio coach Edoardo Reja has questioned whether the club have the relevant striking talent to challenge in Serie A this season.

However, despite criticising the Biancocelesti for allowing both Libor Kozak and Antonio Rozzi to depart this summer, the 67-year-old did express his belief that the rest of the squad could well aim for third place behind Juventus and Napoli.

“We expected something more in front [of goal], given the three competitions in which the club are in.” Reja told Radiosei.

“Kozak is gone, Rozzi also, the replacements regarding the attacking department appear poor, especially when taking into account the trend of recent seasons regarding [Miroslav] Klose and his physical condition.

“Otherwise the squad seems adequate. It was not an important market in the end.

“The Lazio leadership has given the best at the beginning. Probably [coach Vladimir] Petkovic is satisfied with what he has available.

“They should compete with AC Milan, Fiorentina, Inter and Roma for positions behind Juventus and Napoli.”
