Devis MangiaFormer Palermo coach Devis Mangia has refuted claims that he was contacted by AC Milan about the possibility of replacing current boss Massimiliano Allegri.

The 39-year old tactician has been out of work since stepping down as Italy Under-21 coach after he led his team to the final of the 2013 European Under-21 Championship, a game which they lost 4-1 to eventual winners Spain.

“They are things which don’t exist,” Mangia told Sky Sport Italia.

“There’s nothing to it and there never was anything in this sense.

“Then, fortunately nobody brought me up. Besides, I’ve never opened my mouth on this issue.”

The Lombardy native previously had stints in charge of Valenzana and Palermo before taking over from Ciro Ferrara as coach of the Under-21s in 2012.
