Belfodil - InterInter striker Ishak Belfodil has denied reports that he could have joined newly promoted Sassuolo despite only joining the Nerazzurri from Parma earlier this summer.

The 21-year-old Algerian admitted that the Neroverdi had expressed their interest before he had moved to the Milanese club but there was never any possibility of him leaving Inter.

“I did not play in the the first game [againstGenoa], but against Catania I played half an hour,” Belfodil told Nazionale.

“I’m glad I made my debut as I did my best, I just did not score. The most encouraging thing is winning 3-0.

“I want to continue to grow and earn my place in the starting eleven.

“There was really nothing in this [a move to Sassuolo], to the point that even the club has denied everything with an official statement.

“It is true that the leaders of Sassuolo were interested in me, but to be honest they were on my tracks before the arrival of Inter.

“Anyway, no one has ever come from Inter to tell me that they were going to let me go on loan to another club.

“I am doing great at Inter and I’m especially happy with my debut in the league.”
