On his return to Brazil with Corinthians the 24-year-old scored six times in 16 league appearances, however, that was not enough to force his way into their Confederations Cup squad and he must now continue that form to maintain his hopes of a position in Felipe Luiz Scolari’s side.
“For me to leave the Rossoneri has been good, I wanted to get back into shape and play more games,” Pato told Goal International.
“Now that I’m here my goal is to win a place in the World Cup.
“For the way I am playing with Corinthians I think I am deserving of this.”
During nearly six seasons in Serie A with Milan the young striker scored 51 league goals in just 117 appearances.
