Bjarnason PescaraSampdoria have officially signed Icelandic midfielder Birkir Bjarnason on a co-ownership deal from Serie B side Pescara.

The Blucerchiati have handed over €1 million for half of the 25-year-old’s contract and will pay a further €200,000 in bonuses after making fifteen league appearances for the club.

As Sky Sport reveal, the Iceland international reached an agreement with Doria over personal terms several days ago, but on Monday the two sides concluded a deal which sees the player moving to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for the 2013/14 season.

Bjarnason managed two goals in 24 appearances for the Delfini after moving from Belgian side Standard Liege in 2012.
