Yilmaz wage demands cost him Lazio move

Burat Yilmaz GalatasarayThe salary requests of Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz put paid to his hopes of signing a deal with Lazio, it has emerged today.

Although fans were disappointed at their failure to bring in a new signing in attack, especially as youngster Antonio Rozzi departed for Real Madrid B, his demands were thought to be unreasonable by the club.

Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the agent of the striker, Ali Egesel, had requested €3 million per season despite the fact that they had earlier accepted an offer of €2.3m from the Biancocelesti who refused to meet these new requests.

They also report that furious Lazio fans have sent intimidating letters and threats to club president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare owing to their failure to bring in the forward they needed.
