Gattuso Zamparini - PalermoPalermo’s president Maurizio Zamparini said on Wednesday that the future of manager Gennaro Gattuso in the club will not be affected by the outcome of the Rosanero’s visit to Padova this upcoming Sunday, September 8.

Gattuso took the coaching position just this summer, but is already receiving criticism for his team’s disappointing performances in the draw against Modena on opening day, and even more so in the 2-1 home defeat to Empoli this past weekend.

Speaking to Stadio News, Zamparini said: “The Padova game will not be decisive for Gattuso.

“But it is a match we can’t get wrong.

“This is what Serie B is, it’s a division where you need time to find the right blend and set-up.”

The former AC Milan and Sion midfielder was appointed head coach of the Aquile on June 19 this year, succeeding Giuseppe Sannino.

Gattuso began his managerial career with Swiss side Sion, where he finished his playing career in 2012, but lasted merely two-and-a-half months at the position and was sacked after winning only three out of 12 competitive matches in charge.
