Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono has told his side to forget about their previous victories against Inter and focus on their next game. Colantuono and Atalanta take on the Nerazzurri at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

Inter has not defeated Atalanta since April of 2010. Atalanta has won 14 times and drawn 18 games in the two side’s 53 encounters. In their last encounter, Colantuono’s side defeat Inter 3-2.

“We should forget about the victories against Inter in the past,” said Colantuono. “It will be very complicated against the Nerazzurri.

“It will be a very difficult encounter against a determined side. They are well fielded by boss Walter Mazzarri and they never give up.

“Everyone of their players can be dangerous – especially people like Esteban Cambiasso, Fredy Guarin and Rodrigo Palacio – but they have a great squad,” Colantuono continued.

Atalanta’s last game, a 1-0 loss to Sampdoria, brought to an end a three-game winning streak this season.

“We played a good first half at Sampdoria, but we should have taken advantage of the opportunities that we had in the tie,” said Colantuono.

Inter heads into this encounter having defeated Verona 4-2, and will be looking to continue their success against Atalanta. They currently sit in fourth, while Atalanta is ninth in the table.
