Bologna beat Livorno 1-0 at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Angel Crespo scored the opening and what transpired to be the only goal of a tight game.

Paulinho had the first chance of the match, but directed his header over the bar.

It was Bologna who broke the deadlock when Jose Angel Crespo found himself on the end of a Marek Cech’s cross from the left wing.

Moments later Gianluca Curci palmed a fierce Emerson free kick out from under the bar before Diego Laxalt fired just over the crossbar with an effort of his own.

Paulinho had another attempt on goal, but his long-range attempt skimmed the woodwork.

Pasquale Schiattarella’s hit a shot that fizzed past the bar before Francesco Bardi in the Livorno goal needed to be alert from a dangerous Alessandro Diamanti header.

Luca Siligardi’s flying shot whistled just past the upright for Livorno before Diamanti curled an effort just past the framework.
