Cagliari coach Diego Lopez acknowledged the contribution of substitute Miroslav Klose after his introduction at half-time turned Sunday nights’ match with Lazio in the home sides’ favour.

However, the Rossoblu coach still insisted that he was happy with his teams’ performance despite the defeat and would continue the same approach to matches even when travelling to their Serie A rivals.

“We played a good game especially in the first half when we created a lot,” Lopez told Sky Sport Italia.

“We played the match we wanted, using the spaces that Lazio left us, but we could not score.

“Klose has changed the game in favour of Lazio scoring the first to give them the advantage and shortly after won the penalty.

“We were not able to react immediately and reopen the race because we were wrong too far forward.

“We approach every game the same way whether at home or away, but things do not always go as we would like.”
