Former Roma and Italy midfielder Simone Perrotta has highlighted the importance of Daniele De Rossi to the Giallorossi after the club’s spectacular start to the Serie A season.

The 36-year-old believes that the key to the Giallorossi’s success has been the appropriate balance found by coach Rudi Garcia.

Perrotta believes that the French tactician has put each player in the position to do what they do best, with De Rossi being the best example of that.

“De Rossi has returned to being such a devastating player because the coach gives him freedom to work both on the defensive and offensive aspects at the same time,” Perrotta told Deejay Football Club.

“For several years, De Rossi was obligated to only focus on managing the ball when attacking.

“Even though he is good at it, this cannot be his only duty because it doesn’t fully take advantage of his skills.”

De Rossi has made 428 appearances in all competitions for the Lupi since debuting for the club in 2001.
