Inter defender Jonathan is enjoying a strong start to the 2013-2014 season, and the Brazilian credits his strong form to coach Walter Mazzarri.

Mazzarri joined Inter  in the summer, replacing Andrea Stramaccioni as the head coach of the club and Jonathan believes Mazzarri’s appointment has helped him and the rest of the team improve.

“All of the team is progressing thanks to Mazzarri and his staff too,” Jonathan told InterNOS. “They ask us to make the right movements.”

Jonathan has scored one goal so far this season for Inter, and has featured in five games for the Nerazzurri.

“The work we did in pre-season and what we do every day helps us and gives us a boost so we give 100 per cent,” said Jonathan.

“Of course I still have to improve on the tactical and physical end, but I’m doing well,” he continued. “In terms of commitment, I had only done something like this when I was with my youth team in Brazil.”

Inter take on Roma this Saturday at the San Siro.
