Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini revealed his excitement after scoring for the Black Cats against Liverpool on Sunday.
Despite the goal the the Tyne and Wear club lost 3-1, the 28 year-old admitted he was disappointed with the result.
“We were aggressive and we dominated the game,” he told reporters. “But after their first goal we lost our heads a bit and were punished again.
“It was a good game, except for the result. If we played it again I’m sure the result would be different.
“I am happy to have scored, but I would have preferred to have won the match.”
Giaccherini has represented his country on 15 occasions while scoring two goals.
