Hamsik - Napoli

Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has admitted his high admiration for Napoli’s star Marek Hamsik.

The 56-year-old praised the Slovakian’s qualities ahead of Italy’s match against Armenia at the Stadio San Paolo of Naples on Tuesday.

“You have no idea how much I would have liked to have a player like Hamsik in Italy,” Prandelli told Il Mattino.

“Marek is the best foreign player in Serie A.”

The coach also praised Naples’ passionate environment around football and hopes for a full crowd on Tuesday despite Italy already being qualified.

“Naples lives for football. It is amazing and unique.”

“In my career I have never seen a crowd so passionate and close to their team as the Neapolitans,” he added.

“Scudetto? For the joy of everyone, this year there are at least seven candidates for the title. Lazio and Fiorentina are strong and won’t give their chances up so easily. My favorite, though, is Juventus for being the most experienced side.”
