Juventus transfer target Daryl Janmaat has stated that talks over a contract renewal with Feyenoord are still at an early stage.

Bianconeri coach Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on adding the 24-year-old right-back to his squad in order to compete with the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Mauricio Isla for a berth on the right side of the team.

Janmaat revealed that talks over a new contract with the Dutch giants are still at an early stage, opening the door for a possible move to Italy at the end of the season.

“My contract expires in 2015 with the club and we have not talked enough about the renewal,” he told ElfVoetbal.nl.

“The intention is for us to meet and discuss it, but there’s no hurry. At the moment my focus is on the field and helping Feyenoord get maximum points in the league.  Then we can think about finding a stepping stone for the club. ”

Since joining Feyenoord from Heerenveen in 2012, Janmaat has made 33 Eredivise appearances while scoring three goals. He also has been capped eight times by the Dutch national side.
