HIguain - NapoliNapoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is excited by the possibility of facing off against Roma legend Francesco Totti when the two clubs meet, but insists that the match will not determine who wins this season’s title.

Totti was originally a doubt to play in the upcoming match, but looks likely to make it after subsequent tests revealed that the injury was of little concern.

Higuain considers this good news, and relishes the chance to square off against Totti.

“It would only be right for him to be there, because of his football and that some special challenges need talents of the kind that Totti is,” Higuain said to reporters.

“He is an extraordinary footballer, who can delight. It is better to play with him, for the advantage of the show.”

When asked about the title race, and if the match against Roma was likely to be a decider, Higuain deflected.

“It is too early to talk about it. For us, we will not think about it until 72 hours beforehand.

“Yet, it is indisputable that it will be an important game, capable of sending an additional signal, but nothing more, it is no final.

“The season is very long, there is no eventuality that will change my mind, whatever happens.

“Are Juventus stronger in the title race? We cannot even say we are at the end of the first half of the season and in a title race complicated things can happen.

“We need to at least wait until the end of the first half of fixtures to sense the true forces and then even that may not be enough.

“But anyway, I am generally not accustomed to the interest of others, I am thinking about my team, to improve, to grow through training.

“I do not have a tendency to mind other people’s business, but it is indisputable that the champions of Italy do not lack class players.”
