New Inter owner Erick Thohir has disclosed an enthusiasm for former Nerazzurri and Italy under-21 forward Nicola Ventola.
The striker was signed by Inter in 1998 from Bari and was to become a potential star of the future for the Nerazzurri, but Ventola’s career was hindered by injuries.
“An Inter player from the past who has impressed me? Ventola,” the Indonesian businessman told Sport Mediaset.
“Why him? Anyone could say Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, but it says something else by knowing other players.”
Thohir, who brought 70 percent of the club from president Massimo Moratti is set to return to Italy in mid-November.
“I want to do great things at Inter,” he added. “I look forward to returning to the stadium and greeting the Inter fans.
“A team grows if there is a local value but also a global one.”
The Indonesian has also confirmed that his son is a fan of… Juventus.
