Udinese midfielder Roberto Pereyra believes his team could’ve done better in their 1-0 home defeat to Roma on Sunday.

The Zebrette thought they had the advantage after Giallorossi defender Maicon was sent off with a red card in the second half, while the match was also still scoreless, but the league leading Lupi were able to pull ahead with a late goal from Michael Bradley.

Pereyra spoke to Udinese Channel about the match and admitted that his team need to improve, as they try to move on from the loss.

“We played a good game and we didn’t deserve to lose,” said the 22-year-old.

“We conceded a goal at the end and now we have to improve. All of the games are difficult, as we now have to face Sassuolo next.

“The team needs to work. We could’ve done better, especially after Roma were left with 10 men.

“It’s always bad to lose in the end.”
