Cesare Prandelli - ItalyItaly coach Cesare Prandelli has stated that it would be unthinkable to leave striker Mario Balotelli out of the squad that will travel to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup Finals.

Speaking ahead of the Group B match against Denmark, Prandelli told Rai Sport, that the AC Milan striker is a key member of the Azzurri squad.

“The World Cup is unthinkable without Balotelli, I am convinced that from now on, Mario will not do anything extraordinary, and that he’ll arrive at the World Cup well prepared,” the tactician said.

“I spoke him and he told me that this was his dream, but he needs to leave his problems behind in Italy and stop being the character he has adopted.”

Balotelli, who has scored eleven goals for the senior side, will not feature in the fixture with Denmark as he has picked up a thigh injury.
