Roma captain Francesco Totti believes the Giallorossi can go far this season after their impressive 3-0 win over Inter on Saturday.

The win was the Lupi’s third straight against the Nerazzurri at the Giuseppe Meazza and seventh straight to start the season, making them the hot topic of Serie A and European football.

“We’ve had some great games here against Inter, especially in recent years, and to win at the Scala del Calcio is a wonderful feeling,” Totti told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think the victory and the consistency of this team are it’s best attributes, as to win a seven straight games is not easy.

“We hope to continue like this. We know there’s a long way to go, but with this team we can go far.”

Il Capitano admitted that before the season few expected to see the Giallorossi in their current position position, especially after the departures of Marquinhos, Pablo Osvaldo and Erik Lamela.

However, he believes that the current squad has the ability and confidence needed to fight with Scudetto favourites Napoli and Juventus.

“The team is set out well, has international level players and the mentality which is crucial,” Totti said.

“When your mind is free of tension, you can do anything. We are a team who can compete with everyone.

“There are stronger sides, but we will fight to get into the Champions League. That is our objective.”
