AC Milan have taken their first steps to building their own stadium after expressing an interest in the site of the 2015 World Fair.

The club are the latest Italian team to look into owning their own ground after Juventus unveiled their own in Spetember 2011.

Roberto Maroni, president of the Lombardy region of Italy dropped a hint about the future of the “Expo 2015” site in Milan, telling reporters to “think of a city of sport”.

The site is currently being constructed to host the famous event, a public exhibition that varies in style that is held in different parts of the world every two or three years.

Luciano Pilotti, chairman of the Arexpo company that owns the site confirmed that he had received a confirmation of interest from AC Milan regarding the site at a meeting held between the two parties.

More discussions are expected to be held over the coming months.

SAN SIRO is classic and amazing stadium .. No Emirates or new Juve stadium is better than ours ..i think it would be pointlessly spended money of our team. It needs just little renewing and less capacity to dont look half empty during the regular matches .

EIIO… But San Siro is not ours… We pay rent there…owning would generate stadium a lot of money… All other event hosted there ( concerts, mega political meeting, national team games, rugby games why not, champions league,Europa league finals) would be more money to us … We can even get some money from one of these big companies just naming the stadium after them…Audi stadium?

Its not about what can be done to make the san siro better..its about following juventus’ model and creating a self sustaining business. Why do you think Juve have so much money to spend now after they opened juventus stadium

  4. Mikkel says:

Milan need a new 55.000 stadium they can sell out. Juve earn 30 mill. more each year.
