AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri plans to keep 31 year old summer signing Kaka as an attacking option in his Rossoneri side this season.

In a recent friendly, the Brazilian was tested in a deeper midfield role, similar to the role performed by Andrea Pirlo at Juventus.

“We tried something out in Switzerland, but it was only a test,” Kaka said when asked if he was about to alter his position in the Milan team.

“I will continue to play as an attacking midfielder. The coach and I agree about that.”

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani reiterated this when asked about the former Golden Ball winner’s position.

“Kaka will not play in front of the defence because coach Allegri wants to keep him upfront,” the official stated.

“It was just an experiment on Saturday. In principle he will still be a playmaker.”
