Sampdoria have sacked coach Delio Rossi after the club’s disappointing start to the season.

The Doriani fell to their third straight defeat on Sunday after a 2-1 loss to Fiorentina and as a result the club have decided to shake things up in order to improve results.

The club’s hieararchy, including president Edoardo Garrone and sporting director Carlo Osti, met for seven hours on Monday before opting to sack Rossi from his position.

Rossi took over at Sampdoria on December 17, 2012 after the club sacked then coach Ciro Ferrara, leading the club to a 14th place finish last season.

Zdenek Zeman and Sinisa Mihajlovic are reportedly the favourite’s to replace the 52-year-old.

Sampdoria currently sit in 18th place with only two wins from their first 12 matches.
